The defending champions, Lahore Qalandars (LQ), dominated the game right from the start, with both bat and ball, and comfortably defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen (HK) in the opening game of PSL 2026 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Pakistan.
It was the match in which Fakhar Zaman became Player of the Match and the second batter to score 3,000 runs in the HBL PSL ’26.
Fakhar Zaman led from the front with a quick 53 runs, while Haseebullah Khan and Sikandar Raza added valuable runs alongside Mohammad Naeem’s 30 runs off 19 balls.

This was a perfect start for Lahore Qalandars, who intend to win the PSL 2026 trophy again. Their controlled game demonstrated how they have a balanced team.
However, for the Hyderabad Kingsmen, it was a tough first match of the tournament.
