First Innings (India’s Batting)

India stepped on the field with a bat, intending to attack aggressively from early on. They lost Abhishek Sharma for a duck in the very first over.

However, Ishan Kishan was the Man of the Match, giving India’s innings stability and momentum with his 10 boundaries and 3 sixers, scoring a total of 77 runs off just 40 balls.

He found a steady partner in Tilak Varma, who played a composed inning of 25 runs. While team Pak responded with their spinners to restrict India’s aggressive batting and slow things down.

Moreover, Saim Ayub performed brilliantly, taking 3 wickets upon conceding 25 runs, including the big wickets of Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya. Despite late scoring duo of  32 runs by Suryakumar Yadav and 27 runs by Shivam Dube, Pakistan’s disciplined bowling managed to limit the score to 175 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs, with a target of 176 runs.

Second Innings (Pakistan’s Chase)

Pakistan’s chase started off intensely as India came out with its strategic spinners. Hardik Pandya dismissed Sahibzada Farhan for a duck in the first over. Then Jasprit Bumrah came and took two wickets in one over to leave Pakistan at 13/3.

Usman Khan provided some hope for Pak fans through his 44 runs off 34 balls, including 6 boundaries. Whereas India’s spinners, Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy, took 2 wickets each to dismantle team Pak’s middle order. 

While Shaheen Afridi fought until the end with an unbeaten 23 runs and not out, the mounting run rate kept on building pressure for the Green shirts, and ultimately, Pakistan was bowled out for 114 runs.

While for Team Pakistan, the tournament has turned into a survival mode contest. Moving from here, they must win their final group stage match against Namibia on 18th February 2026, with the hope that other results go their way to stay in the tournament.
